Our single-decker Outreach Media Bus converts into an inspiring multi-media studio, providing an exciting space that inspires young people to build their confidence through music production, rap and vocal recording.
With very few youth centres left, the bus provides a vital opportunity for young people to have fun, meet new friends, learn a new skill and do things they never thought they could do. We also run events to link local communities with businesses and brands who sponsor us.
The Young Urban Arts Foundation media bus can also be hired for commercial use through Urban Arts Experience, delivering unique professional development experiences for blue chip organisations. In addition to making a huge difference in the workplace, we use all profits to help sustain Young Urban Arts Foundation.
The bus has a tutorial room and a roof terrace for live performances and its eight workstations include music production keyboards and computers. The bus is also equipped with two plasma viewing screens, DVD players, amplifiers, DJ equipment, external speakers and material for T-shirt workshops.
Workshops on the bus range from three hours to a full day. Young people learn the art of song making using Ableton Live and specialist vocal recording equipment. By the end of their session, they leave with a track to share with friends and family and a certificate of achievement.
